Publishing / Editorial principles

Room for disagreement.

A company can support the examination of an argument without presenting every author’s conclusion as an institutional finding.

Make the voice visible.

We label personal essays, research notes, editorials, and book excerpts. A signed personal essay represents its author’s argument; an institutional statement must explicitly identify itself as such. An author’s connection to mood.vin is disclosed where relevant.

Distinguish experience from evidence.

A personal encounter can motivate a question. It does not, by itself, establish a fact about an entire society. Authors should distinguish what they observed, what they infer, what other evidence supports, and what they propose ought to change.

Criticize precisely.

We aim to examine practices, incentives, institutions, and arguments without treating a nationality or community as a uniform character type. Relevant counterexamples and disagreement belong in the inquiry.

Publish responsibly.

Authors should verify quotations and factual claims, provide sources where appropriate, disclose relevant personal involvement, and consider privacy, confidentiality, and the identifiability of people described. Material allegations call for appropriate fact-checking and, where warranted, independent editorial and legal review.

An author’s note clarifies the status of a text. It is not a promise of legal protection or an assertion that the publisher has no responsibility.

Keep the record correctable.

Publication dates and subsequent updates should be visible. Material corrections should be acknowledged in the article rather than silently disguised. Readers can raise a concern through our editorial contact form.

Translation is another act of authorship.

English- and Thai-language articles are supported. Translations should identify the translator or review process where relevant. We do not automatically label an unreviewed machine translation as an authoritative edition.

Open-source software, distinct publishing rights.

Software licenses are stated with software releases. That commitment does not automatically place books, essays, contributed texts, or private correspondence under the same license.
